After a close brush with extinction, the pine marten is making the headlines as it recovers its numbers in Britain and Ireland.
Johnny is well-known for his informative and amusing presentations. He has been studying pine martens for many years and is involved with national re-introduction programmes.

Through Birds' Eyes
A truly unique talk which will provide a fascinating and very interesting introduction into the vision and other sensory systems that guide the behaviour of birds. Professor Martin has spent his career researching the senses of birds, mainly their vision and hearing, and has always attempted to understand these from the perspective of how visual information helps birds to carry out different tasks in different environments.

Clumping around Clent
A circular walk to the lovely hill monument at Wychbury, with splendid views of the Malverns and the Clees.
This four-mile walk has several hill climbs and crosses the A456 twice.
Bring some money if you want to treat yourself to one of the Clent “butties” at the end of the walk!

Guided walks normally finish between 12.30 and 1.00pm. Wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring binoculars if you have them. A voluntary collection will be made at each outdoor meeting.

Exploring the Sights around Hanbury
A circular walk of 4.8 miles in lovely countryside around Hanbury Hall. It will include Hanbury Church, the grounds of Hanbury Hall and Piper’s Hill and Dodderhill Common nature reserve. There are three stiles.
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear. Bring binoculars if you have them. A voluntary collection will be made at each outdoor meeting.
