Explore Park Hall Nature Reserve
Park Hall is our largest reserve, situated at the eastern edge of the city limits, this site consists of Wetland, Grassland and Woodland habitats and is managed under the Higher level Stewardship scheme. There is a herd of Longhorn Cattle on site grazing the Floodplain grasslands, and extensive work has been done by Wildlife trust Volunteers to restore and conserve the sensitive habitats on this site.
Bats on the Moor
Learn lots of exciting facts about bats and use a bat detector to see which species we have flying around us. Last year we heard and saw four different species so this is an exciting opportunity to experience these wonderful creatures.

Join Conservation Volunteer John Catermole at Queen Elizabeth Park Centre for a short talk followed by a walk around Whitmoor Common Reserve.We will be exploring this acidic heathland habitat and discovering how it is affected by the seasons and annual rainfall.

Open Day at the Chatley Heath Semaphore Tower
The tower was once part of a chain which was used to pass messages between the Admiralty in Whitehall and the Royal Naval Dockyard in Portsmouth. It was built in 1822 and is now the only restored surviving tower in a line of signaling stations that stretched from London to Portsmouth.
Come and learn the history of the tower and take a trip to the top to see the breathtaking views.
Dogs are not alowed in the tower.
Park at Boldermere or Pond car park on Old Lane and follow signs to the Semaphore Tower, approx 20 minutes walk.
Swanwick Lakes Wildlife Tots
Wildlife Tots at Swanwick run on the 1st Tuesday each month, 10:30am-12noon and 1-2.30pm. Upcoming themes are:

Wildlife Tots is for under 5’s. The emphasis is on family learning and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The activities are based mostly outdoors, in natural surroundings. Please make sure you come prepared with a waterproof coat and some wellies.

So, get down to the wood with an empty stomach and learn the origins of cast iron cooking and how to cook a delicious meal on the coals before devouring it together.
