Water Crowfoot

Scientific Name: 
Ranunculus aquatilis

This is the commonest species in a large group of water-plants which can be seen covering ponds, ditches and streams with white flowers in spring and summer. 

How to identify: 
White flowers with a yellow base to the petals. Leaves are circular and lobed and float on the water.
