Moyola Waterfoot

Moyola Waterfoot Nature Reserve runs alongside the River Moyola for the last few hundred metres before it enters Lough Neagh. At the end of this walk there is a bird hide which overlooks the Lough. This site is rich in biodiversity and forms part of the Lough Neagh / Lough Beg Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI), Special Protection Area (SPA), and the Lough Neagh Ramsar. Ulster Wildlife is working in partnership with the Ballymaguigan Community Group to manage the site for its range of features, not least the rare ground beetle (Dyschirius obscurus) which is found along its sandy shore.
