Christmas Family Coppice

Come Christmas Family Coppicing and work off the Christmas excesses!

What a better way to work off some of those Christmas excesses and join the conservation team for a day of coppicing on Rutland Water Nature Reserve.

Bring all the family to help carry out  traditonal coppicing in an ancient wood.  And then there is stew.........the team's festive stews are renowned.  Indeed there is great rivalry between the casserolers and imbibers are cross-questioned as to whose is the best!

And all this for free!

If you're interested in your local nature reserve and would like to know more about its management, come along to the next meeting of the Reserve Advisory Group (RAG).

Throughout January and February we will be holding RAG meetings for a number of our nature reserves around Sheffield and Rotherham.  These meetings are open to any members of the local community who visit the nature reserves, or would be interested in finding out more about them.

We will be meeting at St.James's Church on Scott Road to discuss current and future management of Crabtree Ponds, as well as upcoming events and community work days to get involved with.  We would welcome your views and ideas.
