David has been a keen amateur photographer for about 35 years and having helped to start a camera club in about 1982 which led to club visits to the Lake District and Snowdonia and introduced him to hill walking. Eventually David moved onto treks and a wonderful holiday in the Dolomites inspired him and a friend in 2006 to try something harder such as Western Europe’s highest mountain. Over the course of 8 days David and friend ascended/descended nearly 53,000 feet and covered 50 miles which included the Domes de Miage.
