Wildlife of the Sierra Nevada
The Sierra Nevada is Spain's largest national park, hosts the highest mountain in mainland Spain, and is home to a wide range of wildlife including golden eagles, griffin vultures and Iberian ibex. The park's 333 square miles offers great opportunities for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. The talk by Jane Livingstone will share experiences of exploring the area over the past 10 years, illustrated by photographs of its mountains and wildlife.

Flora and Fauna of Calke Abbey
This historic and varied parkland provides the home for a rich and diverse range of plants, animals, birds and fungi. Calke Abbey ranger Jennie Lloyd shares her wealth of knowledge and experience of this National Nature Reserve.

Highgate Common Halloween Night
Join our wardens for goulish games followed by a lantern lit walk around Highgate learning the tales of the grusome bugs on the nature reserve before returning to the community room for gooey slug slime making and hot chocolate.
Wrap up warm and wear sturdy footwear!
Recommended for ages 6+ but brave younger children welcome too.

Waxcaps and other Fungi
The National Trust's Longshaw Estate has some of the best grassland for waxcaps in the country. Derbyshire Wildlife Trust member Rob Foster talks about these colourful mushroon-like fungi and others which thrive there.

Please wear suitable outdoor clothing. Parents are asked to stay for the first session but are free to leave after that.
World War 1 and 2 theme night at Badgers Tearoom
Badgers Tearoom are hosting a fancy dress WW1/ WW2 themed evening party. Tickets are £12 per person, and food will be served as a buffet.
10% of the profits made from the evening will go to Help for Heroes.
