Parc Slip Halloween Quiz Trail
Time: Drop in to Parc Slip Visitor Centre any time between 11am– 3pm.
Please note that the visitor centre and Trail will not be open on Monday 28th October.
Age group: Suitable for age 5+. Please note this is a self-guided trail requiring adult supervision.
Cost: £2 per child.
Fungus Foray Led by members of The Isle of Man Fungi Group

Come and discover the amazing variety of mushrooms and toadstools in the forest.
Meet at South Barrule Plantation Car Park
Free but donations to Manx Wildlife Trust and IoM Fungi Group are welcomed.
Please wear suitable footwear (rough terrain/ tree roots/ wet in places). You may also want to bring along a small basket for specimens.
Them Bones! Family based event
Why do animals have different bones? What do bones do? What are bones made of? What is the biggest bone ever? Join us in a walk around the museum to look at the skeletons and then for a crafting session afterwards….a spooky event before Hop Tu Naa! Booo!

An illustrated talk by Chris Hatch, Vice-President of the Gwent Wildlife Trust. Chris always has beautiful photographs to share and not only that, he has wonderful stories to tell about all kinds of wildlife.
The Gwent Living Levels Project
An illustrated talk by Gavin Jones. The protection of the Gwent Levels is vital on so many counts; for wildlife, of course, but also for local history and communities. This important project for the Gwent Wildlife Trust involves working in partnership with other groups locally and a fleet of volunteers across many disciplines.
Stumptail : the life of a Dormouse
Speaker : Keith Allen.
Keith has trained scores of volunteers in the handling of dormice. He has a huge store of wonderful pictures, and this talk will take us through the fortunes of one of them.
Ospreys
Speaker : Clive Faulkner from the Montgomery Wildlife Trust.
Thousands of people visit Montgomery each year to see these magnificent birds. Clive's stunning photos are only matched by his in-depth knowledge.
Wild Health
Speaker : Ian Thomas.
Ian is the Wild Health officer for the GWT, and will tell us how experiencing the outdoors and its wildlife can improve health conditions.
The Trothy and Monnow Rivers
Speaker : Steph Tyler of the GWT.
Steph's knowledge and wonderful pictures of our two local rivers makes for a riveting talk. This pre-Christmas talk is followed by mince-pies and apple juice.
