Conserving orchids home and abroad (Darwin's orchids)
Come along to the Worcester local group meeting to find out more about this diverse family of flowers from Kew research expert and author Phil Seaton.
Although the greatest vareity of orchids is to be found within the tropics, orchids exist on all continents except Antarctica.
Phil is Project Manager for the Orchid Seed Stores for Sustainable Use (OSSSU), initially a Darwin Initiative project and contributing to Kew's Millenium Seed Bank.

Guided walk around Hill Court Farm and the Blacklands
Longdon and Eldersfield Marshes were once Worcestershire’s largest and most important wetland; haunt of otter, bittern, swallowtail butterflies and rich flora. Come and see this wonderful reserve which is primarily a wetland site, and is the biggest single conservation project the Trust has attempted.
Rob Allen of WWT leads the guided walk.
This is a wetland, so can be muddy and slippery underfoot if wet - please wear appropriate footwear. Bring binoculars if you have them.
Lapwing Conservation Day
We will be clearing scrub from around the reserve to reduce perching places for aerial predators and allow the lapwing chicks easier access to the wetlands.
