In summer, many special butterflies can be spotted flitting among the wildflowers. The beautiful Chiltern Gentian carpets the reserve in its thousands in late summer. Great crested newts and dragonflies can also be found here in abundance, attracted to the pools and streams

Birches Farm Guided Walk
A chance to explore this beautiful traditional farm of meadow and pasture with reserves officer Jim Light. Birches Farm is not yet open to the public - we are currently raising funds to make the site more accessible so this is an exciting opportunity to see the farm and its wonderful wildflower meadows. Places are limited so booking is essential.

Barn Owl Walk
We will take an evening walk around the farm to see the barn owls hunting and look out for other wildlife.
Meet at 7.30pm in the car park at Blue House Farm, North Fambridge.
