My Wild Newport - Starlings and Mindfulness Sensory Walk

Come and join us at Newport Wetlands National Nature Reserve where we will connect with nature and ourselves.

Hannah and Andrea (counsellors and outdoor life coaches) will guide a mindfulness and sensory walk as a taster session to forest bathing and outdoor life coaching.

This event will help you to reconnect with yourself and the natural world through paying attention to all of your senses as well as helping you to notice your own thoughts, emotions and sensations in your body in relation to this experience.

Robert Magee from Gwent Wildlife Trust's My Wild Newport project will share his expertise about Starlings as we watch their Murmuration around dusk.

We will meet at the Nature Reserve’s car park at 2:00pm on Thursday 19th December and walk as a small group of maximum 15 participants, at times walking in silence, at times sharing our experiences and what we have noticed.

The event is free but booking essential (car park fee of £3 will kindly be funded by the My Wild Newport project run by Gwent Wildlife Trust)

PLEASE READ - We strongly advise that attendees wear multiple layers and warm clothing as the temperature will drop significantly after sunset. The event will not be cancelled unless severe weather conditions are forecasted. Please keep your RSVP updated so that it frees up space for those who can attend.
