This is a fantastic opportunity to explore our beautiful Summerseat Island Nature Reserve which is managed by the volunteers of the Croal Irwell Local Group. They have worked tirelessly over two decades to develop the former sewage works into a fascinating nature reserve, and to increase the diversity and value of the site.
This fun-packed open day is being run by the group so why not join them to appreciate all that Summerseat has to offer? Activities will include guided walks, bug hunts, nature games and much more, so it’s a treat for all the family.
Summerseat Nature Reserve is situated on Railway Street, Summerseat, adjacent to the East Lancs Railway, opposite Wood Road Lane, BL9 5QB.
